Kids Cyclocross at Coyote Point 12/8/2013

The kids course was laid out minutes before the race, and pretty poorly organized. The course wasn't good at all, but we were here, and Anthony wanted to ride- as usual. Not much to say; he made it around most of the course with just a little help from Erika; he was the youngest out there; and he didn't finish last. Done.

No practice on big track due to injury and ambulance. Anthony was up against a couple of older competitors again in the 2 yr. old Strider class, and I let him roll down the starting hill on his own for the first time. He crashed into a cone at the bottom of the turn which sent the others crashing, and off track. In the end Anthony finished in a close second place.

Santa Clara PAL BMX 11/17/13

Another first place trophy; not sure if you'd really call it a win- or a race.

Santa Clara PAL BMX 11/15/2013

It was Anthony's first night race, and of course he was excited to ride. He did great on the practice track, where it was pretty much just him, Alessandra, and the other 2 year old (JT) that he would be racing against. Anthony was literally running circles around JT on the practice track (with Alessandra running circles around both of them), but by the time they'd done a few laps around the big track Anthony was clearly getting tired. They started practice on the big track at 7:30, which is normally his bed time.

Anyway, this race wasn't as fun because he was just too tired. As you can see in the video he just stopped on top of one of the whoops, and JT went by. After that it was hard to just get him to complete the lap. We probably spent a little too much time on the practice track, and he was just out of steam by the time the race started. Oh well, he had fun, and has another race under his belt- it's all good!

Santa Clara PAL BMX 11/10/13- Anthony's First Race

Anthony just started pushing Alessandra's Strider around a couple of weeks ago after Dino broke in half.

He was very upset about Dino's sudden demise, but he quickly redirected his passion to ride into Alessandra's Strider, and after just a few days it was apparent that he was ready for his own. We ordered his Ducati Strider a few days later, and it was in his garage several days after that. Sorry, no pics- we were too busy following him around! After watching him ride around the neighborhood for a couple of days, and a little bit to our surprise, we figured that he was ready to go racing. Here are the results:

Listen to the announcer about half way through the video. He says "Anthony Lupo with the win in the two yr. old Strider class; looks like it says one year old- ONE!"
